Learning to self-monitor your Feelings and Emotions through creative expression

In our society we undervalue emotions. It’s often viewed as a nuisance. Words are frequently applied to it like “sappy” or “mushy”. We have a tendency to assume that smart people aren’t emotional people, and emotional people aren’t smart. The reality is that the smartest people are those who use their emotions to help them think and who use their thoughts to manage their emotions. The key is to use emotion in a healthy balanced way. Today at Kinderclub SC Potsdam the children are ready to take this challenging and exciting exercises.
Under the guidance and instruction with Ms. Elis, children expressed their feelings such as scared, anxious, calm, encouraged, ignored and annoyed through expressive drawings. The goal is to use the exercises as “ mental stretching”, to help individuals learn to think in the abstract and become comfortable with self-expression and self-exploration. Participants soon realize that the focus is on the process and not the final product. Quick, imaginative exercises often prove helpful in facilitating group interaction and growth.

Super well done!
